I meant to go to the Maha Rose space in Greenpoint and never made it. When I found out the new location was literally within walking distance I couldn’t believe it.
The space was transformed from a neighborhood dive bar to a brick and mortar retreat center. I’ve been to several classes, talks and go for energy healings on a continuous basis. Lisa and the inspiring staff are the kindest and have to literally pinch myself that I can walk to the space.
I know that there is so much out there in the wellness space and believe that there is so much thought and integrity with the Maha Rose space and classes.
I highly recommend coming to Maha Rose.

I love this place! The retail shop is amazing. If you’re looking for a crystal and you’re in NYC this is where you’ll find it! This is also where you’ll find the cutest tarot decks and THE BEST books on spirit, metaphysics, healing and wellness. I cannot say enough about the book selection. There’s also a great selection of oils, beauty products, clothes and pretty much anything you need for a zen time wherever you are. Amazing Chocolate too! Once you get past the shop, the space itself is gorgeous, they’re always serving really yummy tea. I love to grab a cup and hop in their infrared sauna before or after a workshop, or after work on any day. Sauna and sound bath on a Saturday morning is a vibe when they’re hosting Saturday Morning Sound. Free Laughter Yoga on Thursday nights is awesome too. Then if you’re like me and want to learn all you can about healing, Maha Rose is also a great place to train; I got my Reiki 1 certification here and it was a beautiful experience.

In search of a spiritual event to celebrate my birthday, I discovered Maha Rose’s “New Moon Meditation” for December 6th. Very excited to participate and experience a spiritual cleansing, I rescheduled all other birthday plans to participate and friends and family were excited as I had been experiencing a rough stage in my life and was seeking a “cleansing” as a celebration.
On the day of my birthday, Maha Rose sent an email wishing me a Happy Birthday and cancelling the event- as they expressed that not enough people signed up for the event. My individual experience, payment, scheduling of plans and celebration of my birthday meant absolutely nothing to this center, claiming to offer spiritual advisement.
I would not recommend that anyone schedule any events with Maha Rose as the ability to earn money is more important to them than those seeking meditation and spiritual relief. On this birthday, the message that was sent by Maha Rose communicating that I was not important, and neither was my eagerness to attend the event that they organized.

I am so glad that I came today to the January 2018 open house! It was beyond my expectations. I signed up for the hypnosis session with Shauna and with Maha Rose staff like Gabby I was welcomed and brought back to the present moment. The palo santo and incense perfumed the room, fresh water was easily accessible, and there were plenty of spiritual tools and books to choose from. Even chocolate!! I chose the Vanilla Rose square that Maha Rose sells and it was phenomenal. The restroom also was immaculate and got me wanting the aromatherapy oil and machine they use as well as the soap- it made an everyday task like a spa experience. Five stars is not enough to describe the gift that this place is. I am glad that I came and I definitely plan on coming back. Thank you so much!

One of my favorite spaces in New York. I came here after a retreat in Big Sur and felt like I had found a version of Big Sur right here in the big apple. It’s my safe haven and go-to for crystal shopping. THE best crystals. 🙂 They also have amazing practitioners and there’s an infrared sauna. Really great in the winter. The staff is super friendly & accommodating. The vibe is really everything. Walking in there feels like a giant hug. Highly recommend.

I had my first crystal healing session with Sadie and all I can say is wow. She has such a warmth and receptiveness that I instantly felt at ease in a way that allowed me to open up about my current situation. Because of this I felt like I was able to express and release emotions that had been building up for a long time. The way she conducts her crystal healing sessions is holistic, using a combination of meditation, crystal reading, and reiki. From their humble beginnings to professional woo-woo shop, Maha Rose has been a gem in the quiet neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Maybe Greenpoint isn’t so quiet anymore as the high rise buildings develop and the privileged hipsters move in; as the independent restaurants are replaced by bourgeois fine dining “establishments”. Still, peace can be found amongst the selenite and black tourmaline, the amethyst and citrine, and even beyond, in their main “sala”: the cork-floored meditation room that has hosted hundreds of types of those seeking peace from the chaos of the world.
